Essay Topic for 2025
Write about the following topic:
Reflect on a significant setback you encountered in your life, detailing the impact it had on you, strategies you employed to overcome it, and how this experience ultimately shaped your resilience and personal growth.

Essay Requirements:

YOU MUST A WOMAN WHO LIVES IN THE NEW HAVEN, CT AREA.

In the upper right-hand corner your first and last name, date and college you are planning to attend.

Include your first and last name only on the following pages in the upper right-hand corner.

Double space “without” double spacing between paragraphs.

Proper spelling and grammar is required.

Essay must be at least 650 to 800 words.
Essay winners* will be notified on or before: April 5, 2025.
Winners* will be publicly announced on Saturday May 31, 2025 at the Shar and Shar Scholarship Fund Breakfast held at Cascade Fine Catering, 480 Sherman Parkway, Hamden, CT, 06514.
* Scholarship winners MUST be present at the Shar and Shar awards ceremony to receive your award. If not present, the award will not be giving.

You have 2 ways to submit your essays – by mail or email. We are accepting submission essays from
January 20, 2025 – March 15, 2025.
No Extensions. No Exceptions.
